Tami has a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico and is currently working to obtain an Early Childhood license. She believes that early childhood education provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success by developing key social, emotional, and cognitive skills.

Tami has over 20 years experience teaching grades kindergarten – third grade in both public and private school settings. She is currently a STEAM teacher in Rio Rancho. Tami also has several years experience in private tutoring and enjoys the one on one interactions that tutoring provides.

Tami strives to foster an environment where each child feels valued, respected, and loved. She believes that children are naturally curious, capable, and eager to learn. It is the educator’s responsibility to help facilitate the learning process in a way that meets each individual child’s needs while allowing them to feel safe to express themselves, ask questions, and know that it is okay to make mistakes. By adapting to their individual developmental stages and learning needs, Tami is able to scaffold each child’s growth and development, and encourage a deep sense of autonomy and confidence.
