My Story

LaToya Turner is a proud New Mexico native and lifelong educator. She's spent over 20 years in education, including 16 years in higher ed before shifting her focus back to K–12 schools.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from New Mexico State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Psychology from the University of New Mexico. She also holds a Level III Professional Teaching License and a NM Administrator License.  Over the years, LaToya has taught both upper elementary and first-year college students, and she currently serves as a school administrator.

LaToya is passionate about helping learners of all ages, whether it’s tutoring K–8 in all subjects, supporting high school students in English Language Arts, or guiding adult learners through college success strategies. She also loves writing and continues to take English courses whenever she can. One of her long-term dreams is to write a children’s book.

Outside of education, LaToya is a proud mom of two daughters and two sons, and life is always lively with her fur babies in the mix! She love to travel, explore new places, and run her small party-planning business, where she gets to bring people joy through creativity and celebration.

At her core, she just loves helping people grow, learn, and believe in themselves.
