Ian grew up in Albuquerque and graduated from UNM. He began his work in education as a tutor supporting adult learners in math, reading, writing, high-school equivalency, and ESL. From there, his work expanded into STEM tutoring in college-level biology and algebra, where he led workshops and study sessions while continuing to support individual students across a wide range of academic backgrounds.

As an administrator, Ian helped develop curriculum, design educational programs, coordinate instructors and volunteers, and support students pursuing long-term academic and personal goals.

Throughout that progression—from tutor, to instructor, to education program leader—Ian has always worked directly with students and been part of the learning process. He is passionate about helping students make progress toward their academic goals.
